Only the Few

Normal people are made of gold,

Special people never grow old,

Normal people are works of art,

Special people are par t of the heart,

Normal people can bring you up when you’re down,

This kind of people can bring you back around,

Hey, your’re an angel,

It’s what you do,

I’m not sure I’d be here,

If it wasn’t for you.

Sorry its been so long. Any way..

Artimis Fowl by Eoin Colfer

A 12 year old Irish genius makes a discovery: fairies do exist. He maes plans to capture one. What for? To hold it ransom! He asks for gold in return for Captian Holly Short. It follows Artimis through his life for a total of 5 books so far. It might sound like something for little kids, but it is much better than I can make it sound!

Poetry

Posted by pickypickyandme 3:53 pm Filed under: Uncategorized

My mom said I should put some of my poetry here so….

COLORS
All the colors in the rainbow,

Seem to gather ’round this table,

Red, green, orange, blue,

Are just some of these earthly hues.

The Sky is falling! The Sky is falling!

Comes the cry of cheerful kids,

Bundled up then squished right out,

Is the colors fate, no doubt.

Now they sleep, and sleep they will,

Yet long and lively the children sing:

Merry Christmas! Merry Christmas!

Their joy buried on skies of white ,

The colors leave in sorrowful flight,

Their friend is gone, their playful delight.

Alas, all is not! Their back! Their fine!

Newer colors creep up their spine,

Opening anew, everything starts to bloom.

The friends come back to touch the sky,

To reach the top, to never cry,

They reach, they reach….And snap! They fall,

The lush green picks them up,

To try again, you’ll never fail!

They shake their heads and push away,

Yet in a month they’ll be back again,

To touch the sky, to reach the top.

Thus their story begins anew,

New friends will push and bloom,

And if they fall, they’ll come right back,

To touch the sky, to reach the top.

The end! Did you like it? I’ll put more up soon.

Homeschool 101

Posted by pickypickyandme 6:39 pm Filed under: Uncategorized

My mom did a speech about Homeschooling called, well, ‘Homeschool 101.’ I decided to go for the fun of it at fifteen minutes to six I slipped into a different outfit and hat. Then my mother and I left. We arrived at the library it was held at around 6:30. I looked around the parking lot and the first thing I notice is a car speeding through the entrance in front of me. I cringed back a little and turn turned to help my mom with the books.

“Great. The one thing I want isn’t up…..” my mother grumbles under her breath as we empty the bag with our friends things in it. We have three boxes, a bunch of papers, and a bag.

“Think we can make it in one trip?” my mom asked me with her head still in the car. I shrugged, “Maybe if you put some the papers in the bags.”

“You’re a genius!” my mother exclaims and puts the papers in the bag. I end up getting the bag and one box. My mom got the other two. She started walking up the stairs to the door when some random guy cuts in front of us. I’m not quite sure why, but I keep my mouth shut tight. As we reach the top, he presses the handicap button for us. I still am not sure why thought we couldn’t do it, but I stay quiet. We walk in and turn to go down the stairs. My minds thinking, why can’t we take the elevator? I’m still quiet. My mom is nervous enough that I wouldn’t get the answer I wanted anyway.

We reached the top and look at the schedule. Room D. The one in the far back.

“Wonder why they gave us THAT one.” I say to no one in particular.

“Doesn’t only hold 25 some people? Maybe they thought it wouldn’t get that much attention.” my mom responds as we walk down the hall to our room.

Now, I’m thinking that it will have a table in front and chairs set in rows in front of it. We walk in and…………They have three tables shoved up against each other and chairs everywhere around them. There’s also five comfortable chairs against the farthest wall. I set my box and bag in one of the good chairs and look around. This time I see a chalkboard and a screen. My mom is pulling out the chair from the first table. Then she sets it against the wall away from the door and sets her boxes on it.

“Can you do the same with the other?” she asks me as she takes the magazines out of her boxes.

“Sure.” I pull out the chair and start dragging it along the ground. I push up to
up the opposite wall and look at all the chairs around the room. If they had any organization, it was now lost. I grabbed the third box and start to help my mom.

“Where is she….” my mom mutters as she set the books out.

“Who?”

“The librarian said she would sent her helper to bring print outs.”

I nod and go back to working. A few minutes later she shows up with the print outs. She also has a lot of books the librarian thought to put out.Student/Teacher stuff. I did’t pay to much attention to them.

“I’m also supposed to do a little speech in the beginning. What would you like me to do?” she asks my mom. My mom just stood there for a second. I don’t think she had realized that they were going to do.

“It doesn’t really matter.” my mom replies and starts to put the print outs on the other table. I cput the stairs in straight lines and blah, blah, blah. NOthing more really important happened so I’ll skip a little.

At two minutes until seven, the helper comes back in. By now we have about 10 people in the room. Including a older guy in a suit, a woman with an infant, a woman with a 6year old, a women with really frizzy hair, and three wierd ladies that I just can’t describe. The librarian’s helper steps up and says something short about the library. That’s where it gets fun. A couple minutes after my mom starts her speech a women walks in with a guy with a camera. I look at the camera to find that they’re from a news station. They were coming to video tap this!

The women makes a lot of notes and shows them her partner, who nods. He starts to tap the print outs and fliers for different homeschoolers. About half way through the talk, they get up and stand in the hall. At the end , she comes in and asks my mom for a interview. She agrees and they walk into the hall. I follow them for a little, but I got bored and went back to the room.

(Nothing more eventful happens for a bit so……)

Towards the end of the interview, two of the attendees try to leave. Guess what? They don’t want to get on TV!

“Is that room next to us empty?” one of asks and points to the room. I look in and nod.

“Yep. It should take you to a hall. Follow and you’ll end up in the front.” I replied and return to the hall.

“No it doesn’t. It goes to another room.” the second (whom I know) argues. I merely shake my head and show them through.

“Oh it does!” the second responds and I laugh. What? It was a funny thing to do! My mom comes off and we go back to Room D to clean up. It took probably five minutes. MUCH less work than taking it in! We walk back up at five to nine, five minutes before it closes. We got in the car and went home.

Ends up she was on the 10 o’clock news, which we watched, and the one on at 11. It was fun to watch my mom and guess what? They want to come wideo tape us working on school!
